For our very own Lake Tyler to be the chosen locale for HGTV's $1,000,000 furnished 2005 Dream Home is excitement enough, but we could never imagine just how dreamy it is.
According to HGTV President Burton Jablin, "HGTV searched the U.S. for another dream-worthy location and we believe we've found it in Texas. The home we're building on Lake Tyler includes many of the attributes that research has shown us people are looking for in a dream home. Couple that with world famous Texas hospitality, and we believe we have a winner.''
The lucky winners of this magnificent resort-style home will have a multi-level abode that offers an unobstructed four-mile view of Lake Tyler beauty. Included in the splendor of this dream home are materials prevalent within lush East Texas. According to Home and Garden Television, architectural elements will include: a simple [their word, not mine!] metal roof, large overhangs, operable windows, and natural stone. These all should provide powerful resistance to Mother Nature and the passage of time.
The forethought of perfect positioning will allow the winners to take advantage of cross ventilation and gentle breezes throughout the 2005 Dream Home. Facing the prevailing winds will be the longest side of this 5,000 square foot home. Its structure will be marked and surrounded by numerous French doors and the largest of windows. Not to break the poetry of describing this luxurious East Texas home, but it is important to note that HGTV has used voluminous amounts of state-of-the-art insulation in this home's preparation.
TheLake Tyler home has the splendor of the finest master bedroom. Referred to as the Honeymoon Suite by Home and Garden TV, it will be separated from the main house by a screened porch equipped with hot tub and outdoor fireplace. All of the comforts of one's dream home have been included: a private juice bar or computer nook, the perfection of a master bath that includes a dramatic shower, and the optimum area for sleeping, adorned by incredible views of Lake Tyler.
Should the winners ever choose to exit the Honeymoon Suite, they may select to remain adrift in the core of the house. It is here that East Texas is reflected in the large, Texas-style living, dining, and cooking area. Nestled on the terraced and tree-filled landscape, porches are plenty in the HGTV Dream Home - abounding on the lakeside of the home, as well as the entry.
To enhance one's Tyler, Texas dreams, there is a room for watching television, playing games, or working out. Additionally, HGTV has added a second bedroom with a bath on this level. The Dream Home winners will also have a garage designed to accommodate any SUV or recreational vehicles.
What would a Dream Home be without providing a dream-come-true bedroom for the most adventurous member of their household? This magical treat is provided in the form of a tree house-style bedroom and bath that is placed at the highest point of the house. And no Dream House winner will be without overnight guests! A secluded guest suite is provided on the second floor of the boathouse (yes, the boathouse) with a west-facing porch that will frame East Texas sunsets. The guest suite will be connected with a stairway to a lower level living space that will contain a kitchen, dining and seating area. This floor will have doors that swing away from view providing an outdoor feeling on the lower level, fully integrating it with the deck.
Yes, Home and Garden Television has chosen to bring their exquisitely designed 2005 Dream Home to this East Texas Garden of Eden - Tyler, Texas, the land of our dreams.
